Welcome to Windy River Farm, a farm of gardens, and Oregon Tilth Certified Organic farm owned and operated by us- Peter and Judy Liebes. We grow a wide variety of culinary and medicinal herbs, vegetables and fruit for fresh use and to dry and to dehydrate for our products which we sell at the farm, at farmers' markets and by mail order. Our mutual interests in gardening, growing beautiful plants, caring for the environment, and love of good food, good nutrition, brought us together. We have lived on and nurtured our land for more than 15 years, learning more every year about our environment and the observational, esthetic and physical skills needed to maintain and enhance it. We began market gardening on our farm in 1980. With practice, study and mistakes through the years we are now very good at what we do.
Our 25 acre farm is located in southwest Oregon on the Rogue River near Grants Pass. The area is blessed with highly mineralized soils and a mild climate with hot dry summers, perfect for growing herbs, fruits and vegetables of exceptional taste and quality. Our soil and plant health is maintained by cover crops, mineral amendments, foliar feeding and crop rotation. Insect control is accomplished by huge flocks of migratory and resident birds and careful selection of plant varieties.
